Bio/Contact

Andy Raskin is the author of the forthcoming book The Ramen King and I: How the Inventor of Instant Noodles Fixed My Love Life (Gotham Books, 2009). His essays and personal non-fiction narratives have been broadcast on public radio's All Things Considered and This American Life, and published in The New York Times, Gourmet, Wired, Women's Health, and Playboy (the Japanese edition). A judge for the 2008 James Beard Foundation Journalism Awards, he is fluent in Japanese and often sets his stories in Japan's bizarre worlds of food, literature, and pop culture. Andy holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a BS in computer science from Yale. He also earned a master's degree in International Studies (Japan concentration) at University of Pennsylvania's Lauder Institute. He resides in San Francisco, where he is a member of the San Francisco Writers' Grotto.
